Our diesel-powered work platforms come in a wide range of options: Standard front-wheel drive (2RD), four-wheel directional steering (4RD), four-wheel drive (4x4) and a combination of four-wheel drive and four-wheel directional steering (4x4-4RD). This last configuration is a Plafolift exclusivity that makes it possible to laterally move the platform by crab-walking the equipment into position for greater levels of productivity. Our 4x4-4RD diesel work platforms give new meaning to the expression Rough Terrain. In mud, exceptionally uneven work sites and really tight spots, turning angle is less significant and our machines easily outdo our competitors’ best offerings.
No matter what traction option you choose, our machines can handle grades of at least 45º, making them a snap to load and unload when they have to be moved from one construction site to the next.

Lateral Bars | |
All our diesel-powered work platforms come equipped with lateral bars that can be pulled out to provide closer proximity (2’ to 3’) to structures for safer, faster work especially around cornices. These lateral bars, exclusive to Plafolift, accommodate additional deck space (on safety rated beams or a Plafolift optional aluminum work surface) for greater productivity.

Most of our diesel-powered aerial work platforms offer the opportunity to dramatically expand the total working surface of the deck (by choosing the appropriate option). A retractable deck can be added along with a lateral platform of 24’’. All this adds up to a gain of some 80% in total work surface area. On certain models, it is also possible to add a second floor to the work platform for further productivity gains.
